Parkinson's Group

We are currenty running two groups at our centre; on Mondays from 12.00-13.30 and on Tuesdays from 14.00-16.00 in term time only. We also provide outreach services in Worcester.

The sessions are organised into different programmes; carrying out movements in lying, sitting, standing as well as a directed walking programme. Within each programme there is a series of tasks, which are not simply a set of exercises but specific combinations of movements helping to improve symptoms that are caused by the condition.

Participants are encouraged to implement the techniques that they have learnt during the sessions into their daily lives to make every day life easier. To recieve an assessment for this service please complete the online Parkinson's disease assessment form

Participant Feedback includes:

  • "It's great to be given a chance to come here, and it's helping"

  • "It was beneficial beyond all my wildest expectations"

  • "The course has been very good and helps in every day life.  I felt that by Thursday I had made a great move forward and my family have seen a big improvement in me.  This course just has to be allowed to carry on helping others"

  • "Finding out about MBH and CE is like a dream that came true for me.  It is such a positive way of helping me cope with getting on with my life"

"I will be forever grateful to MBH as I am learning slowly to cope with my problems"

The Megan Baker House by Brynis Woolley

I've been to The Megan Baker House
I hope it did me some good.
We did a lot of exercises
Some sat, some lay, some stood.
We stretched our legs and waggled our toes
We stood or sat or lay.
It was doing us some good
It made for a worth while day.
After one and three quarter hours
We stopped and had a rest.
We went for coffee, chocs and cakes.
I think that was the best.
But I'll go again next week
And do the best I can
And hope in time I'm better
I'm glad I joined the gang.
