Woody Beavan

Hi, my name is Woody Beavan; I was born on 16th November 2003 with my twin sister Willow. Mummy tells me that we had to be born two months early as I was in distress.

When I was born I had to be given oxygen to help me breathe but unfortunately the wrong dosage was given and now it has left me with Cerebral Palsy, this means that I have no balance, my muscles are very stiff especially in my legs as they don’t grow as fast as my bones which makes it difficult for me to stretch, sit upright and things like that.

Before mummy heard of Megan Baker she was having to try and get me to do things on my own, she made me crawl and now I’m glad she did as I can get around much easier I’ve even mastered climbing!

When mummy took me to Megan Baker for the first time, I cried because it was strange and I did not know anyone but now I like it very much, Megan Baker has taught me to balance, mummy never thought I would be able to do this but I proved her wrong!!

Then…I walked all by my self, only few steps to start with but now I can take up to 60 steps so long as I concentrate on my balancing.

Megan Baker is also helping me to put my shoes and socks on, I still need a little help but I’m sure I will master it soon.

Without Megan Baker I don’t think I would have learnt to walk, I am so very grateful and mummy and daddy are too.
